Tips & Tricks – Game Scheduling & Sign-up

Submitting an event in Cardboard Connect

In addition to the FAQ on the 2026 Schedule and Game Sign-ups page, here are some tips and tricks that should set you up for success:

  • Do you want to play more than 1 session of a game?
    • Start by scheduling one session first and only add additional sessions as they each fill up. One full session with a later follow-up session scheduled is usually better than 2+ sparsely attended sessions! And in the worst cases we have seen games that maybe could have had enough players for one session, have those attendees spread out
  • Book the table for only the time you think you’ll need it – but make sure you consider your set-up and clean-up time.
  • Book a table appropriate to your needs – avoid booking an x-large table or a table in the quiet room unless your game or players require it.
  • If your game needs accommodations that aren’t covered in Cardboard Connect (more players, etc.) please be sure to message us on Discord #tech_support. While we may not be able to accommodate every request, we will do our best.

Cardboard Connect Tips

  • Give yourself a seat at the table – even if you don’t plan on playing a game, we recommend adding a “seat” for yourself in the player count and claiming a seat at the table.
  • The way the system works, if you don’t claim a seat at the game table, while it will show on your schedule, it won’t warn you of conflicts with other events you try to sign up for.
